Sentiments

This week at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #132, Cindy has challenged us to showcase one of Flourishes sentiments. When I saw the Zinnias set I was really loved the sentiment that I have selected for this card. Being a teacher sometimes it feels as if what you do doesn't matter. I learned differently this past week.

Sentiment

I began teaching 10 years ago. My first class was a 4th grade class with 18 amazing children. These students graduated this past June and hopefully entering their first year of college. I think about this kids often, but I got a phone call from one of them! Little Allie (now she goes by Alex) called me to tell me that I was one of her favorite teachers and that she was headed off to college. It made me realize that everything I do really does matter. It's why I continue to teach.

I also am entering my card into Card Patterns #130 Sketch Challenge.

I hope you like my card. Thanks for stopping by. I really enjoy hearing from all of you.
Theresa

A gorgeous way to frame that lovely sentiment Theresa!

How sweet that Alex got in contact with you! It must be so difficult not to get emotionally detached as a teacher!

Thx for sharing honey!

Hi Teresa
this is an amazing card, love the colours and the sentiment so beautiful, thank you for the lovely comment, the embellies are usually in my head with no way of getting out lol x but the husband is very creative and he starts on one thing and then my head catches up and carries on (he is fab)

Another gorgeous card, Theresa! I love the panels in that same pretty paper with just that hint of the little coordinating squares peeking out from underneath the bow and flowers. That is a great quote--and so true. I got a little teary-eyed reading about Alex calling you. So sweet.

A stunning card Theresa and a wonderful sentiment!! As a teacher of children with Special Needs I often think I'm making no impact - perhaps I should have this sentiment pinned above my desk. xx

10 years and your first graduates! What!!? Has it really been that long already. Wow!!

The card is gorgeous. One of my favorite color combos and I love featuring sentiments as the focal point. I don't do it very often, but I just love how it looks.

Beautiful flowers!

I'm so glad that Alex called you - I think that most of us take our own teachers for granted. I try not to with my own kids' teachers. I'm still in touch with my favourite teacher from high school - and he attended my wedding :)
I love the sentiment, because it's so very true. Hard to remember when you're slogging away!
