Yummy Fruit

I have another post...I wanted to get in one more before the end of the month. This month marks my one year blog anniversary. I plan on offering blog candy along with the one year celebration over at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I hope to have more posts in July, since my days will be filled with physical therapy, exercising, golf, swimming, and crafting - yeah!!

I made these three little cards as a "thanks for always being so kind to me" gift. At work, one of my colleagues has been the kindest anyone can be to me and we are working next door to each other over the summer and she is a total plant person...I am not, and I had to teach plants for 4 weeks. I thought I would make her these cards to just say thanks. I know she'll love them!

I hope you like them too! I can't wait to hear your comments.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #52 Combined With There She Goes #61

Hello Everyone, happy Tuesday. We have another great sketch from Melissa this week and a great sponsor (I hope I have it right this week) - Die Cuts R Us. This week is week 52 for Tuesday Morning Sketches and beginning next month Melissa has a new look and a month full of great sponsors, guest designers, and prizes. I hope that you will join us!

I decided to go for simple...I wanted to try stamping a background image. It looks good, but not what was in my head! I just bought this DP called Cafe Mediterranean by DCWV and love it. I had a hard time settling on which paper to choose and decided on clean lines.

Since I am so close to finishing summer school I decided to also enter my card into There She Goes weekly challenge #61. Their challenge is to go green and incorporate some sort of plant. What a coincidence...I have been teaching plants all summer to my 1st graders...so what a great way to end school - don't you think? I also have to tell you that I attended the TSG July Release Party and I was the lucky winner of the entire release and I can't wait to get my new stamps to really play in the month of July. You have to check out the stamps - they're awesome!!

Well, I hope that you join us this week. I enjoyed viewing your cards and can't wait to see this week's sketch on your blog.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #51

Greetings Everyone. It's another fabulous sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. This sketch is real simple and can adjust to practically any image. This week our sponsor is Whimsie Doodles. I do hope you'll join us because I love looking at all your creations.

This week I used another new set I purchased from Close To My Heart called Fruitful Delight. It's awesome!! There are 4 different fruits: the cherries, strawberries, a pear, and an apple. I simply adore the stamps and how my card came out. CTHM does sell the cutest cherry paper, but the paper I used here I found while perusing at Archivers. I love the "old" look to it and the stripes are on the backside of the paper. It's just yummy!

Well head on over to TMS so that you can see the rest of the design team designs and the sketch. Don't forget we coming up to our 1 year anniversary and you won't want to miss all the fun! Which reminds me...I am coming up on my 1 year blog anniversary too and you'll have to stay tuned because I'll be offering some blog candy of my own!!

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to reading your comments.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #50

I have to say, Tuesday is probably my most favorite day of the week. One because I know I'll get to post a card, and two because I have 6 more days before the next Tuesday.

I really had planned on doing a lot of crafting and all I seem to be doing is planning for school. Summer school has turned out to be a full-time job. I can't wait for June to be over so when July gets here I can make some cards!!

Melissa's challenge this week was to make a step ladder card. I made one about a year ago in stamp camp - just loved it. I loved it because I didn't have to do the cutting, folding, or measuring. I began this card at 4 pm and finally finished around 11 pm. I was thankful that I only destroyed 1-12x12 sheet of cardstock. I even got so desperate that I texted Melissa and asked if I could post the card I made in stamp camp (hahaha). In case you can't tell, I layered the tree in some places twice and in others three times - it looks cool!

As it turns out, I love how this card came out. I bought this set a while back from TSG, my favorite stamp company. I did a swap and got a card using this amazing tree! Then on the TSG website this week Danielle, one of the Trendsetters, made a card with the tree too. So I took my inspiration from both of the designs (sorry I don't know who made the card I got in the swap) - and this was my creation. I think it's pretty darn awesome. I hope you do too!!

Thanks for stopping by...be sure to join us at TMS. This week's sponsor is Softpencil and Melissa has some tutorial links on the blog to show you how to make two types of step ladder cards. Say, we're coming up to our 1 year anniversary and Melissa has some amazing things in store - you'll have to check it out.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #49

It's another amazing Tuesday. We've got a new sponsor joining us this week - Kristy from Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps is here with us and she's offering 3 digis to the randomly drawn winner! She also has something really special for Tuesday Morning Sketches readers/participants. So be sure to head over to TMS for a new sketch, something special and another week of fun!!!

Melissa has designed another amazing sketch. Although the sketch looks fairly simple - it was challenging. I do hope that you will join us because I can't wait to see what you put together.

I used another stamp image from Close to My Heart. It's called Piece of Cake and it's just the coolest set of 6 different cakes. The sketch just called for this huge layer cake. As part of the design (sorry I didn't photograph) I layered the cakes by popping them up. I think it looks pretty cool. I hope you like it too.

Well I am off, today is going to be the first day of summer school and so far the training was chaotic and today's staff meeting and classroom set up has been a disaster! I hope when the children arrive tomorrow, providing parents haven't change their mind, goes smoothly. I am so glad it's only from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Have an awesome day!

Live Inspired, Dream with Possibility

I finally finished one of the many thank you cards I need to make. I am really enjoying my new stamp set from Close to My Heart and I cased this card from their summer catalogue. I know the card doesn't say thank you, but it goes to a man named David who happens to be the district manager for 24 Hour Fitness. I thought the Live Inspired (on the cover) and Dream with Possibility (on the inside) is the perfect thank you.

Without getting into too much detail - I have been a member of the 24 Hour Fitness gym for 4 years now. I have spent a great deal on personal training and am not happy with their practices. I am tired of trainers being moved to other gyms (without notice) or their quitting or just being terrible trainers. So I kinda got my panties in a wad and threw a fit. David was kind enough to solve the dilema and really take care of my needs.

As part of his thank you...I made the card, but I also made a two page scrapbook page layout and titled it "Daddy's girls." I happened to see him at the opening of a new gym with his little girls and couldn't resist putting something together for him. I hope he likes it!! I'm sorry that I'm not posting that photo here...sometime this summer I'll take the time to figure out how to photograph 12x12 scrapbook pages and take the photos so that they don't take up the entire post!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #14

For Tuesday Morning Sketches - please scroll down.

It's so nice being off work, but I do go back this Thursday. I agreed to teach summer school. The nice thing is that it's only for 30 days and 4 hours a day. I get up...I exercise...I work..and then I have time to scrap. That's what I did today. I made a card and will be making more today.

I decided to join Sassy Cheryl's challenge. It's all about layers. I think I managed to capture that. Although I am not big on digi's (I like inking up my images), I do like Sassy Cheryl's images. I just love this little girl - reading with her post-it notes everywhere - a child after a teacher's heart.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy my two cards today. Oh I just realized too that both cards are blue and brown. No, I'm not in a "blue" mood, just wanted to use blue.

Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #48

Good morning! It's another great Tuesday and this week's sketch is awesome. I do hope that you'll all play along with us because I'd love to see your take on this sketch.

I needed a masculine thank you card and so I thought I'd try these colors and my new stamp set from Close to My Heart. This set is called Live Inspired and it's just gorgeous. Now that school's out, I'll have time to make the thank you cards that I am so far behind on - these people are going to think I'm rude.

Be sure to head over to Tuesday Morning Sketches to check out the sketch and post your project.

Have an amazing day! I look forward to hearing from you.
