Tuesday Morning Sketches

I recently received some long over due photos of my neice and nephews. One in the mix was of Hollyanne hugging her brother Brendan - I think it's sweet. So I definitely needed to put this photo in my calendar.

I used Treemendous from There She Goes. I love the sentiment. I hope you enjoy.

Deepest Sympathy

Death is always a part of life, but it's never easy. I have a great friend that substitutes in my class - she is the only woman that I trust with my students. Sadly her son passed away. When she told me she celebrated his life of 33 years. Her son was born with cystic fibrosis and it finally took its toll and he knew it was time to say goodbye. She was thankful for the time she had.

This is my first sympathy card and I really had no idea which direction to take. So I turned to Silke Ledlow and my There She Goes stamp set Here For You. I logged onto the TSG gallery because I knew that there were some amazing sympathy cards - I tried to copy Silke's card, but I have no clue how she managed to stamp the bottom half in green and the top in red. I know that with red rubber you can color the stamp with markers, and I tried that with my clear stamps - doesn't work!! So then I tried stmaping the image using a light colored stamp pad and then coloring over the image - well that just made a huge smearing mess!! There was no way I was going to mask all those small images off, so I settled for one color. I hope I did Silke proud.

Have a blessed one. Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week I decided to go back to making a card. I want to use the right TMS sketches for my calendar. Plus, I don't have a lot of photos of my family. I have lots of photos of my students, but I am not allowed to post their photos for my personal use.

I have someone that is incredibly close to me going through some challenging times and I made this card for her. I really like the sketch - you'll have to go to Tuesday Morning Sketches to check it out. I think it's really versatile. I decided to use it very literally. I love the beads that I incorporated and I was a bit concerned with the DP - but I think it works. I hope you like it too!

We'll see you at TMS!

Birdie Wishes!

I made the decision that I wanted to provide birthday cards for my co-workers. I went to the social committee and told them that I would be happy to provide homemade cards. Believe it or not I was turned down! They said they purchased a box of cards and that was good enough. Okay! So I decided that I would make a card just from me for people that work hard on a daily basis.

Being part of the design team for Tuesday Morning Sketches I get to look at every card that is submitted. This design was taken from one of the participants that used a sketch from Create 4 Fun Challenge. I loved the layout and just had to copy it!! I used Birdie Wishes from There She Goes.

This card goes to our Math Facilitator, Linda. She is just the best. She helps me out by pulling my gifted kids and challenging them in math as well as reading. I am very thankful for her presence.

Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear from you.

Buttons and Bows

Here is my next installment of my 2010 photo calendar for my submission to Tuesday Morning Sketches.

This is my beautiful niece Hollyanne. I was going through my Cards magazine and came across a card that I thought was breathtaking. The card was created by Lea Lawson in the June 2007 issue - I made my photo page using inspiration from her card. Her card used brads to do the lace up - I laced through the card and attached buttons. I love it! I thought this looked the the lace-up of a ballet slipper and was perfect for her ballet photos. The DP paper is from SEI - isn't it just yummy!!

A New Calendar Year

Happy 5th Day of the Year!!

It's amazing how time flies...now I have a calendar to watch how time flies. I attended the 12 hour crop at Archiver's this past weekend. I had a blast! As a gift I received a monthly planner. This planner is totally cool...it has a clear cover and then inserts to place photos. Well I certainly can't just stick a photo in the pages - how boring is that? Well I decided that I am going to make 6x8 scrapbook pages to put in my planner. I will use the sketches from TMS to do all my designs, so here is the first design from this weeks sketch.

This is the cover to my planner and it's totally me: pink and green and flowers. I just love this new set from There She Goes - Garden of Friends. I can't wait to work on coloring this image with different color schemes. I also love the DP I used. It's from Cosmo Cricket-Everafter. The solid colors come from Close to My Heart. I just love the combination. I hope you like it too!
