Tuesday Morning Sketches #154

Hello Crafters -

It's been a fabulous week here in Denver. I have enjoyed the couple of days of rain and the cool weather. Too bad it's not going to last too long. I'll be in a class for the next three days, so at least I get to sit in a/c all day!! A luxury I don't have at home.

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a great sketch and it's judged challenge week which means there is a twist with the card. All you need do is use the sketch and include things with wings - the image, an embellishment, you name it! We also have the sweetest lady in the world sponsoring us this week, Korin from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

TMS-#156

For my card I selected the Praise the Lord Clear Stamp Set. I happened to really love the bird and had to jump at the chance to color this gorgeous bird. The paper comes from My Mind's Eye I used two different 6x6 pads - Portobello Road and Market Street aren't they just perfect. Many of my crafting friends ask, "How can you color the images before you select the paper?" I love to color and then I always seem to find the right paper afterwards. I think that's the fun part of crafting!!

Here is our sketch. As you can see I flipped the sketch. I hope you join us this week. Do stop by the rest of the DT and leave some love. They have produced some fabulous cards to inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Happy Fourth of July

Evening Folks -

Well the best laid plans don't always go the way you plan. I had hoped to have this card posted by this morning, but I was struggling with the papers and finding what I wanted. So I am getting in my Fourth of July card in just under the wire (midnight eastern time)!!

I was stalking Shelby's blog and too a liking to a Mayzy Arts digi so I decided to click on her link and found a couple of images that I really liked. My favorite stamp companies don't really carry anything to celebrate the fourth. I wanted to this...I hope you like what I've come up with.

Fourth-of-July

I totally loved coloring this little beauty. I went through all the digital paper that I had from Cupcake Craftroom and I found the red striped paper in one pack and the stars in another. I was tickled!! I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #162 for the basis of my card. I would also like to enter my card for the following challenges:
*  Paper Playtime: Die cut + Red, white and blue

I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July. Thanks to all the men and women in our Armed Services who continue to fight for our freedom.

Have an awesome evening.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #153

Hello Crafters -

It's another wonderful Tuesday Morning Sketches day. We have a great sketch and a wonderful sponsor - Meljen's DesignsI am also excited to announce our Design Team for our Summer/Winter term.  We're welcoming back Angela, Dawn and Cheryl (although on summer leave) and our new DT Members are Laura Nehring, Bonnie aka Grandma Bonnie, Jessi Fogan and Debbie Foster.  Welcome ladies we are excited to see all your gorgeous work!!

I really don't get a lot of credit for my card today. When Bonnie aka Grandma Bonnie was offered the DT job I learned that she was coming to Colorado. Well we managed to hook up for two days of fun crafting. I was whining about having to make a circle card - they are totally too hard for me. Well being the wonderful grandma she is, she put together the base of my card. All I did was color the fun image. Thanks to Bonnie!!

I hope you'll take the time to drop by our new team members and give them a TMS Welcome. Here are the DT's Blogs.

Cupcake Craftroom July Challenge ~ Layers

I can't believe that it's already July! We're half way through the year. Amazing how time flies. Speaking of July it's time for a challenge from the Cupcake Craftroom. This month Mandy made some gorgeous papers called Flourish. They are gorgeous!!

The challenge this month is Layers - lots of layers in your cards. Layers can be matting and layering, piling it on, adding elements and image toppers, building up different papers, layers of a border, decoupage, the list is endless.

Flourish---July

I love this image. I have had this for a while, but was a bit intimidated to color her up. I think she's gorgeous. Paired with this paper (which looks purple, but it's really a gorgeous blue) look fantastic together. When Mandy sent up the paper - I knew which image I needed to use. I need to use this paper again, just to highlight sentiments.

I hope you'll come along and play with us. The challenge is open for a month - all you need are layers. Be sure to click on the Flourish link above to take a look at the papers.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!!

Sweet Sketch Sunday Challenge #161

Good Evening Crafters -

I'm back with a second post for tonight. It's been such a wonderful couple of last days. Cooler weather (low 90s) and a wonderful breeze. Been able to work in the craft room - and it's been great! I also want to say hello to the several new followers I've gained. Thank you I really appreciate your comments and support.

I am submitting an additional card for Karen Giron's Sweet Sketch Sunday Challenge #161. This time I wanted to show something a little more to different to show some diversity and how sketches don't need to be taken so literally. I really like this card. I used a stamps set that I haven't used in more than a couple of years.

Here is Karen's wonderful sketch and my card. I hope you like it!

There She Goes Release Week | Day Four

I have been so excited for this day. It's the last day for the There She Goes sneek peeks. When I saw this set it was so hard to keep my mouth shut and not show everyone. I am just tickled with this set.

For all your well-wishing needs, Melyssa has created this SUPER cute and VERY versatile set, Get Well Wishes!! Nothing says feel better soon like a handmade card, and this set contains the perfect sentiments and images to say exactly what you need to say to brighten someone’s day! With sentiments for nurses, too, you will get TONS of use out of this SUPER adorable set!!

Get Well Wishes is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 19 stamps and will sell for $18.00.

I am just so pleased with how my card turned out. I have the perfect person to give this to, my friend Sarah who is a nurse and card maker. She will love this. I wish I had this stamp set while I was dealing with medical issues - I have so many nurses that did so much for me. Isn't this just fabulous? I also couldn't resist seeking out the right paper to paper piece her scrubs. I love that nurses wear scrubs so that children won't be frightened - I found these adorable little monkeys.

I am also entering my card into Karen Giron's - Sweet Sketch Sunday (SSSC161) DT call. I adore Karen and would love to work for her. She has taught me so much. Wish me luck - the competition is tough.

There She Goes Release Week | Day Three

I hope that you have been enjoying the There She Goes release week blog hops. We are now on day three and we have another awesome set!

When drawing up last month’s Oh Crop set, there were just TOO many cute images and sayings for one set, so we HAD to split it into two. Poultry In Motion is the companion set to Oh Crop, and includes SEVERAL new sayings, and more ADORABLE images you are sure to love! From the farmer’s wife, to several more barn yard friends, you will LOVE what you can create when these two sets combine.

Poultry in Motion is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 30 stamps and will sell for $18.00.

For my card today, I couldn't resist using this adorable sheep. What a cute way to say, "I'm so sorry!" Nothing like turning "red" when you feel embarrassed heh? I think this is just adorable. I hope you do to.
