Tuesday Morning Sketches #196

Good Morning TMS Fans,

We have a new sponsor - Saturated Canary and a very lovely, simple sketch. I have been so intimidated by Krista's images. There is so much amazing detail to her beautiful drawings. I almost opted out of this week's challenge. Then I found this gorgeous image - I made her a bride, but I think she could also just have on a beautiful gown. I do love how she came out. Hope you do too!

Sorry to be short tonight. I'm exhausted and I have a long day at work tomorrow with it being family night I need to hit the hay!

I hope you'll take the time to check out the rest of the DT - they have done an amazing job.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #195

Good Morning TMS Fans - we have a fun sketch this week and we're being sponsored by Clear Dollar Stamps.  If you've not visited this store, you simply must check it out. It's home to some of the most adorable digital stamps and papers.

I on the other hand used a stamp that I purchased from them over two years ago and never used. I bought the stamp when I was watching Trudy Sjolander on YouTube. I turned to her again, because I saw a video of combing Copics and Prisma Color Pencils. I love the effect I got. I didn't have the same Copic colors she used, so I made due and I just think this crow is just too precious.

Looking out the window again - and it's another snowy Tuesday. It's now three weeks in a row that we've had a major snowstorm on Tuesday. This is getting old! I thought this image would be too fun to color and think of spring. I guess he should be black since he's a crow, but I love the blue!!

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #194

Good Morning TMS Fans!

It's actually Monday evening for me as I write this post...what could go wrong today did go wrong today. My para didn't come to work, so all the reading testing I had planned didn't get done! It began to snow around 1:00 today and it's still snowing! I know we need the moisture, but good grief. Came home to do a load of laundry and the washing machine backed up and made a bloody mess. Then I received a phone call from a friend (and former boss) of mine - his wife of 27 years lost her battle with breast cancer. I'm so sad for him and his daughter. My message to you ladies, be sure to do your self-checks and mammograms. Early detection is the key.

Now onto Tuesday Morning Sketches. This week we have my favorite sponsor - There She Goes! We have a great sketch to work with and of course the best stamps on the planet.

For my card, I chose to use Polka Dot Pals - this set is just so adorable. I just love the darling little animals. Isn't that lamb just so fluffy?

I hope you'll join us this week at TMS. Please be sure to stop by the blog and check out what the rest of the DT put together.

Thanks for stopping by and listening to my ranting! Have an awesome day!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #192

It's a blustery Tuesday Morning here in Denver. The wind and cold blew in last night...I want SPRING!

This week we have a new sponsor to Tuesday Morning Sketches - CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Michele is such a wonderful lady. I've had the pleasure of sitting with her and stamping. She's such a hoot!! She's offering up a $25 gift card to her store - geez I want to win!

For my card today, I used an image from Little Miss Muffet. I am really trying hard at my Copic coloring. Only I think I'm sort of stupid! I just can't get the light source down to get all my shadows on the same size. It seems so simple, yet it just escapes me. Oh well, I love how this came out. I hope you do to.

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us this week. Also, take a few minutes to leave the DT some love. I know they'd love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #190

Good Morning TMS Fans! We have a great sketch to work with this week. I combined the sketch with There She Goes (Again!) week.

Be sure to head over to the TMS blog to check out the sketch and to see what's up for one lucky player from this week's sponsor - StampingScrapping.com which offers stamps, dies and supplies.

This week for TSG (Again!) the three sets being highlighted this month are:

What's up Buttercup is such an elegant set. I love flowers. This set is such a wonderful versatile set. I hope you'll check it out. I hope you enjoy my card. Be sure to stop by the TSG blog to see previous cards created by former and current Trendsetters.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #188

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a great sketch this week and a favorite sponsor - DRS Designs. The winner will receive a $15.00 gift card to their store. For my card I used a wonderful stamp I had - called Large Strawberries. I can't wait for warmer days to have some sweet strawberries. These look good enough to eat.

I want to thank everyone for your wonderful well wishes. My knee and leg is still really bruised, but I am fine.

I hope that you'll come along and play with us this week. Be sure to check out the rest of the DTs wonderful projects.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #187

Well I am certain it's a fabulous day at Tuesday Morning Sketches, but for Tuesday in my life it's not going to be good.

It snowed like the dickens Sunday night and instead of closing or even delaying the start of school - my district opened as usual. I arrived at work Monday and the parking lot hadn't been cleared. There was about a foot of snow. I'm just glad I didn't get stuck and got the car parked. Well after school, I'm walking the kids out. As I was leaving who falls? ME!! Not once, oh no, I had to go and fall twice. The parking lot was an ice skating rink and I didn't have on my skates. Now, my knee is swollen and incredibly swollen, plus I twisted my ankle and my hip. I just feel so stupid. I was so excited to leave, I was going to the gym to exercise (which I haven't done in like in a year and a half because of my knee). So today, I am hoping I can just walk.

Enough of my woes...Today at TMS we have a favorite sponsor - Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I didn't request an image in time, but the rest of the DT has some fabulous images to share. For my card, I turned to There She Goes. Two weeks ago was TSG (Again!) and I had the set Sweet Pea already colored up and so wanted to put it on a card...so here it is.

I'm not much of a lavender/purple kind of girl...but I thought the coloring on these sweet flowers came out real nice. I need to give this card to Stacy, the nurse in our building. She got me home, shoveled some snow so my car could be parked and didn't leave me till she was sure that I had enough ice and ibuprofen. What a sweet lady.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll stop by the rest of the DT and see there marvelous creations. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #185

Good Morning TMS Fans - well I wish I could say that my cold/flu has gone away. NOPE! I still can't break this fever and my nose is running straight down the street. I just wish I knew what I need to do to stay healthy. Getting old stinks!!

Well, this week Bugaboo is our sponsor. I didn't use one of their images, which I really like I really needed a baby card. This week is our judged challenge week with the theme being "lovey dovey." Well I'm not into lovey dovey stuff, but what's more perfect than the love of a baby. I selected a set that's newer to me from There She Goes - Tweeterpated. It's such a cute set for baby, spring, or Easter.

Our sketch this weeks was designed by DT member Laura Nehring. It's so simple and fun. I do hope you'll play along with us. Be sure to stop by the rest of the DT and check out their amazing work. Plus Sandra MacLean continues to be our Best of the Best Guest Designer.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #184

It's a wonderful Tuesday here at TMS...we have a great sponsor this week - Freckled Fawn. Be sure to check out their store. They are offering up a $20 gift card. This week's challenge although not a judged challenge week, Melissa is challenging everyone to use Washi Tape along with the sketch. Well needless to say, I have no clue what Washi Tape is, nor do I have any in my craft room. So mine will be without!

One night a few weeks back I had insomnia. I tend to surf the internet or go onto Pinterest. Well with my Smartphone, I don't even get out of bed. I came across this card and I thought I pinned it, but I didn't...my phone downloaded the photo to my phone. That means I can't give credit where credit is due. I CASEd part of this card and thought is was perfect for this sketch. My apologies to the originator - I love this card. My DPs are semi-different and their card was full of paper flowers, pins, metals...and so on. My sentiment is completely different. I guess I really didn't need to say all this since I can't seem to get the original card off my Smartphone (I think the operator needs to be smarter than the phone!!) to show you.

Oh well...onto my card. I dressed up the sketch a bit. Hope you like what I've done.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #183

Hello All!

Sorry I missed last week. I am finally caught up on everything and should have a lot more time to devote to crafting - yeah! I believe I finally have my mojo back.

This week our sponsor is Lil' Inker Designs. We have a fabulous sketch from DT member Laura Nehring. I hope you'll come and join us.

For my card, I did some cleaning this weekend and found three boxes that I purchased from Taylored Expressions and just never had the opportunity to pull them out. One of them I purchased this stamp set and I totally forgot all about it. I was happy to ink up this set. Here's what I came up with.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the rest of the DT blogs to check out their gorgeous designs.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!!

TSG-190 & TMS #181

I decided to combine two challenges - There She Goes and Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week our challenge is brought to us by Our Trendsetters! We are challenging you to make a card or project using our “Love is in the Air” theme! I combined it with a great sketch from TMS. I hope you'll take a peek over at TMS for the sketch and this week's sponsor.

For my card I used the mini stamp set called Love - what a perfect set for our love is in the air theme. I am really enjoy the CAS style. It's a bit more difficult for me, but I do really enjoy the clean lines and simplicity. I just loved pairing this pink and brown together.

Be sure stop by both TMS and There She Goes to see all the wonderful inspiration from both Design Teams.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #180

Well, it's been a few months since I have posted for TMS. I needed to take a break and now I'm back. I thought for sure I was going to let it go, but how can I leave my sister?

There have been a few changes at TMS in that Cheryl has left and we picked up a new designer, Jenee.   This week we have a new sponsor - Freckled Fawn.

Melissa and I had a conversation about images and supporting the sponsor. It was decided that since I want to try and sell Close To My Heart that I would be able to use this forum to show off other stamps I love. For my card today I used two sets: Pirouette Flair and Avonlea Scrapbooking Workshop Everyday Life. The DP is from the Avonlea set. I think this came out very nicely.

Please head over to the TMS web site to check out the sketch and the gorgeous work from the DT.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #169

Hello Crafters-

I just love this time of year. I think fall is just a gorgeous time of the year in Colorado. I love seeing all the gorgeous colors of the trees and feeling the crisp feel of the morning air. This week I couldn't resist using this sweet little image and her big pumpkin.

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a fabulous sketch and sponsor - Stamp Fairy. Be sure to visit her store - she has some fabulous digis and she's offering $10 in digis to this week's winner. I hope that you'll come play along with us.
Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to stop by to see what our Best of Best Guest Designer, Alison made and the rest of the DT. It's an amazing line up.

Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #167

Welcome to today's challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. We have a great sketch and this week is also judged challenge week. Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Design and I think I found the most perfect image to celebrate October - this beauty is called Pink Ribbon Frame.

I had forgotten how much fun it is to color people. I have somewhat stepped away from my craft table. I'm still not back into the swing of crafting, but I'm getting there.

I love the doily I put behind her! As part of my birthday celebration I bought myself a Silhouette!! I'm not sure I like it yet. I will never part with my Cricut, but I do love how the Silhouette cuts so perfectly. I just need time to sit down and play with it!

Onto the sketch...as I said this week is the judged challenge. To be eligible for this week's prize you need to use the sketch and the twist - you card must be based on the letter "E". For my card I used ethereal beauty!
I'm not good at round cards so I added the square background!! It's up to you how you interpret the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by. I do hope you'll come along and play with us at TMS. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #166

Good Morning Crafters -

First, let me start with my sincerest apologies to all those that have commented on my cards. I am SO far behind in commenting. I am hoping now that I am in the swing of things with school my life should  get back to normal - no more late nights (I hope!). I'll be faithfully around because I miss seeing your gorgeous work.

It's a wonderful day at Tuesday Morning Sketches. We have a great sketch - I really like this sketch. Our sponsor this week is Paper Pretties. I selected a great digi called Pretty Present. I needed a birthday card that could work for a male and a female. I really like how this card came out. For the square behind the image I used a cocktail coaster (my favorite bar donated a massive amount of these coasters and I want to put the to use). It adds a bit of dimension to the card.

Please stop by the TMS blog to check out the sketch. I appreciate you're stopping by.

Have an awesome day.

P.S. Be sure to come by on Saturday...I'll be offering some blog candy to celebrate two huge milestones.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #165

Hello Crafters -

This will be a quick post...I am exhausted. Today we went on our first field trip - to the mountains! I had a blast and I even managed to make the hike (with my cruddy knee). The kids had a great time too.

This week we have a great sketch (designed by me) and we have the best sponsor ever - There She Goes! I used a new set titled On the Move. It's such a fun set. I didn't get the opportunity to make a card when this set was released (I was busy with the start school or sick). I just love how this came out. I hope you'll head over and check out the new store.

Isn't that dog the cutest? I really enjoyed coloring up this image. I hope that you'll join us this week. The sketch is super fun and if you have TSG images show them off. Stop by the rest of the DT and see their amazing cards. Today we also say goodbye to Chupa - our "Best of the Best" Guest Designer this month.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #164

Hello Crafters -

First, let me once again apologize for being so absent. I have lost the want to make cards. I know it's just that my schedule is busy with school, mentoring, and being sick - again! I took last week off and I am hoping that I can back into what I really enjoy this week. I think my classroom is finally where it needs to be and there should be no more late nights.

This week at TMS we have a sweet and simple sketch and a great sponsor - Guylou's Inimitability DigiStamps. I selected this Fairy to play with. I thought it was a very interesting image and really enjoyed coloring it up.

I originally thought about highlighting the colors of the sun flower, but decided on the dress and wings. I found this gorgeous paper from MME called Graceful. It took me forever to decide on the paper - I wanted to use all of them. I like how this card came it. I hope that you'll take the time to stop by and see the rest of DT's gorgeous cards plus our Best of the Best Guest Designer - Iwona (Chupa) Palamountain. Here is today's sketch.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. October is coming and I will be having some fabulous blog candy to celebrate two major milestones.

Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #162

Good Morning TMS Fans -

It's a great Tuesday here in Denver. The day is going to be hot, but I look forward to the cooler air coming our way toward the end of the week. I have had a full week with my new students and they are such a fabulous group of children. I have 8 boys and 18 girls! I'd say that's pretty even.

This week at TMS we have a DT favorite sponsor - Doodle Pantry and a fabulous sketch. I am so happy to see the amount of players. Your work has been so good. I need to apologize that I have not been around to make comments. Things should slow down soon - and I'll be back around.

For my card I selected this cute image called - Book Ants. Don't you think those ants carrying that huge book is just adorable? I totally love it.

Be sure to stop by the rest of the DT and see their amazing creations. Here is this week's sketch. Can't wait to see what you put together.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #161

Okay, I struggled at writing my post last night, so I decided to wait till now to complete it! I was so tired by the time I got my card done that I just couldn't keep my eyes open. Going back to work has been a very rough transition!

This week Raisin Boat is our sponsor. As Melissa calls it, it's the Blockbuster of stamps. You can rent the stamps and send them back and get new ones. How cool is that? For my card this week I am using a set called Naughty or Nice. This snowman is just too sweet. Meredith, if you're reading this...they have a puppy in this set too (two of them to be exact)!

Be sure to head over to the TMS blog to check out the sketch and the rest of the DT work - it's amazing. Can't wait to see your creations.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #160

It's going to be a busy day, so I have to make it quick. Sadly, it was time to officially report to school. It was a great day and it's going to be an awesome school year. This week is just going to be a big whirlwind for me.

Today at Tuesday Morning Sketches our sponsor is The Stamping Boutique. In the spirit of returning to school I selected this fabulous image of an old school desk. I just love it. Instead of one sketch today - it's your choice of four different sketches. You get to pick - how fun is that?

I hope that you'll stop by the DT's blog and our Guest Designer - Shelby Thomas to see their incredible creations.

Here are the four sketches that you get to choose from. I can't wait to see what you make.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!
