Tuesday Morning Sketches

I am so glad that it's March. Typically in Denver it's the snowiest month. I hope not!! I know that we haven't had much snow, but the three or four snow storms we've had has been enough for me. I think the cold is what I hate and because the weather can't make up it's mind - I managed to get a terrible cold. With that cold came strep throat and pink eye. I want SPRING!!

Oh well...

It's a new month and Melissa has a wonderful sketch and sponsor for us today. Our sponsor is Catherine Pooler, a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. For the month of March Melissa has created some amazing sketches. I hope that you'll be here every week to join us.

For my card I used a stamp set called Razzle Dazzle. I bought a year or more ago. I really love this stamp set, but I never put it to use - like most of my stamp sets! I'm lovin' the colors that I put together with this card.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

It's been a wonderful beginning of the week in Denver. The weather is beautiful, a little cold, but the sun is shining. This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a great sketch and a wonderful sponsor - Tiffany Doodles. I really like her digi's. Be sure to stop by her store and check them out. I think one of the things that I like about digi's is that you can make them small or quite large (for a scrapbook or a classroom bulletin board).

First, with the sketch. This is a fun simple sketch that you can dress up or down. Have fun with it. I did! I purchased a new paper pack from CTHM called Mayberry and I love the colors - they are so me. I wanted to go simple today. I have been off today and will be off tomorrow, but I realized that I really need to clean my house. I tend to ignore it and it's become overwhelming for me. So I am doing the responsible thing!!

I hope that you enjoy my card. I really love hearing your comments.

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Today at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a challenge - Folded Frame. When I first saw this, I thought there's no way!! It was so amazingly simple. I loved putting it together. I wish I had started this becaue this is what I would've put together for my student's Valentine's.

Our sponsor today is StampFairy. Be sure to check out their blog and their great digi's.

Onto my card. I love the image I chose...but I"m not sure that I was too happy with the double side of the paper. I loved the brown polka-dots, but when I selected the paper I never thought about the other side. So I hoped I worked out the small details. I like how the card came out. I'd make this again, it was easy and it can be used with just about anything.

I hope you like it too! Would love to hear your comments.

Have an awesome day.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello Crafters - We have another wonderful sketch this week. In addition a wonderful sponsor - Digi's With Attitude! Be sure to check out their blog and their wonderful images.

We are expecting a major snowstorm today and a high of 11 degrees. I think it's time for another snow day!! I want some more time in my craft room.

I went to card club this weekend and put together this wonderful layout and it really inspired me to make cards. Of course I need to get going on something for my students for Valentine's Day. I seem to always make these treats at the last minute!!

My card this time I wanted to break away from my "traditional" color pallette. I wanted bright bold colors. Well in the end it didn't turn out that way - I still made it my traditional green and pink, but I did add black! I think this card looks like a tuxedo. I flipped the sketch and the side flowers were made using this teeny tiny heart stamp. I stamped them five times and then put the brad in the middle so that you couldn't see where I didn't get them to come quite together.

Well I hope that you enjoy my card. I wish you the most awesome day. Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Today, Melissa has a wonderful sketch for us to cast our talented ideas upon and a wonderful sponsor - Inktegrity. Joni, my sincere apologies for not using your wonderful digis (I still don't have a printer...and I will not be replacing it anytime soon).

I have wanted to give my weekly volunteer a "Thank You" card for so long. She is so wonderful. She comes in every Tuesday to read with my at-risk students. I hadn't done anything to thank her - I have this fabulous calendar for her, but I never made a card. Well that is what I set my sights on to complete. It's done!! I just love how this came out. Jessica over at There She Goes took my idea for a "teacher" stamp set and made it. I am so excited to finally pull it out and use it.

I hope that you will come over and play along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches - this month promises to have some wonderful challenging sketches. See you soon!

I hope you like my card. I can't wait to read your comments.

Have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello Crafters -

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches - it's a challenge. It's "heavy metal" week. Add metal to your card or project. This week is also a judged challenge - so I can't wait to see what you create. We also have a returning sponsor - DRS Designs.

I am sorry I have been off-line for a while. I really need to find that balance between work and my crafts. I now have 31 students and am expecting more. I have to remember that I come first!! I decided that I would work in my craft room this entire weekend. Well at least I managed one day.

I appreciate your stopping by and I hope you enjoy my card. Be sure to stop by the rest of the design team and leave them some love too.

Happy Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello Crafters...it's another fabulous day at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Today, Melissa's challenge sketch is fabulous. It's the kind of sketch that you can challenge yourself or make it simple. When I saw the sketch I had my mind set on paper medallions. A few months back Sandra MacLean posted a Halloween cup with a paper medallion and instructions. I followed her instructions, but I had no idea what I kept doing wrong. The paper would tear when I tried "scruntching" it down to make the medallion. I tried and tried and it never worked so I got fed up and quit. Well in my mind the sketch demanded medallions - I sat followed a YouTube tutorial over and over. I got it!! I couldn't believe it - they went together like bread on butter. Who knows. It was probably the state of mind.

I like the card that I put together only I make the mediallions and the paper two different colors. I didn't like solid medallions, and I didn't like the solid red...I just didn't have a very good selection of patterend paper. Oh...looks like I need to go shopping. I used the There She Goes ROLF Taglines. I have been wanting to use this set for a long time. I love the images and the sentiments. I was feeling a bit moody when I made the card and was hoping I could click my heels 3 times and go back home to where I was a little girl and start all over - knowing what I know now that is.

This week's Tuesday Morning Sketches sponsor is Gingerloft. She has some great digis, so be sure to stop by her blog and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!
