Our Creative Corner

Many of you know that Silke Ledlow is my all time favorite crafter. I read her blog on a daily basis. I just love her work. Well she is the host for this week's Our Creative Corner and it's her last. I certainly had to join in. This is like the first time I've stepped out to join challenges beyond There She Goes and Tuesday Morning Sketches. I want to break out and get noticed, someday I'd like to be on some design teams - so I guess I better get busy!!

I love how this card came out. It's a thank you card that is two weeks overdue. We had our JA day at school and I had the best volunteer I've ever had. The kids and I just had the greatest time. It took me nearly two weeks just to get the kids to write their thank you letters - so I hope she'll understand.

Anyway, I love the colors and the DP. The sketch was fun to work with. I think the only thing I goofed on was the rounded corners. My corner punch wasn't cooperating!! The stamp is the newest from There She Goes and I had a blast using watercolors to color it.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great night.

TSG44 Meet The New Trendsetters

As I have said before, the only thing constant in life is change. This week Jessica, owner of my favorite stamp company, There She Goes announced several new Trendsetters. I'm sad that Maki Jones will no longer be one of her designers. However, after spending hours perusing the new Trendsetters I am impressed!! I look forward to seeing their work.

This week I decided to join the TSG Challenge. The challenge was to CASE one of the new Trendsetter's cards and change 3 things. I took a liking to Kim Teasdale's work. Her watercoloring technique is just amazing! I chose to CASE her Peter Rabbit Inspired card that she made in 2008. I changed the DP but kept the color scheme, I replaced the stitching with piercing (I can't sew a straight line), last I changed the stamp and used the newest Hunny Bunnies set from TSG. I gave it a go (my first try) at watercoloring - I think it came out pretty good.

I'm off to tell Kim I CASED her card. Thanks for stopping by have an awesome day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

It's amazing how time flies. My newphew's 15th birthday is at the end of this week. I wanted to make a card for him, but somehow my card turned out a bit more feminine that what I planned on. So I'll have to start over and make him something different.

This week, Integrity is Tuesday Morning Sketches sponsor. I chose this lovely piece of cake. I was dreaming of German chocolate cake as I was coloring it - my favorite. I haven't had a good piece of cake in years. I'll just have to stick with the paper kind!

Hope you join us at TMS this week. Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

I love this week's sketch, because it isn't a sketch, it's a color challenge. I was so excited to be able to ink up my new There She Goes Aim for the Clouds set, which I won by the way!! The colors in the challenge are Chocolate Chip, Light Orange, and Vanilla. I don't have space to keep a lot of SU paper colors on hand - I just like hoarding DP! So I use colors that come close.

I just love the way this card came out. I love the orange and vanilla DP. I colored the balloons with Chocolate Chip and Only Orange SU markers and used a blending pen. I am just tickled with this set and will need to come up with lots of reasons to put it to good use.

Please come join us at TMS...I'd love to see all your creations.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week's sketch was a lot of fun. I had so many visions running in my head! I had so many images that I wanted to play with and finally settled on a new set from Close to My Heart. I loved this DP paper from DCWV and I bought this pack for this one sheet.

I hope that you join us at TMS this week. I can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm not feeling loved - I haven't had comments in a long time. Hope to hear from you.

Valentine's Day at School

Last Friday I celebrated Valentine's Day with my students. I loved the project that I put together for them. I made them Valentine's mail boxes - I kept them very simple because I know they will eventually hit the trash! I also made the kids an ATC Valentine's and they actually loved them. One of my students said, "I can't believe that you made these for us, especially since we were naughty while you were out sick!"

I cut the mail box from Cricut's Love Struck and I took the idea for the ATC from an advertisment from a Michael's card. I used my Cricut to cut the entire card. I was having issues with my Cricut cutting. It wouldn't cut lower than 5" and I finally got a hold of someone that cared and they replaced my machine and boy oh boy am I in love with my machine now.

Thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow for Tuesday Morning Sketches.

You Are My Sunshine!

Once again, I am late for my Tuesday Morning Sketch post. I have the most horrible case of strep throat that I have ever had. Where I got it is beyond me. It started with a sore throat Saturday evening and by Sunday evening I was uncomfortable. By Tuesday morning - I had no voice, couldn't swallow without crying and finally called for a substitute for today and tomorrow. I don't ever remember it be this bad!!

I really like this week's card for TMS. I made it with my little sister in mind. She has always been my sunshine. Plus I have huge visions of spring in my head.

I hope you enjoy. I'd sure love to hear from you.
